SOLDIERS Return won a 4-3 thriller over Oakley in the North Hants Sunday Senior Cup to book a place in the third round.

Cobi Judd opened the scoring for Soldiers, latching onto a long free-kick from his own goalkeeper, and running through to lob the Oakley keeper, in the first 10 minutes.

However, the visitors bounced back to lead 3-1 at the interval.

Soldiers Return rallied in the second half and, on 55 minutes, Stuart Cubbage played the ball to Judd to net his second from 20 yards.

Cubbage soon set up Judd again to level the tie with his hat-trick and, with 10 minutes to go, Cubbage crossed the ball to Judd, who scored from second attempt.

Soldiers Return won 4-3 with all four goals from Cobi Judd.

This is the first time this season that Oakley have lost successive games.

For Soldiers it ended a run of two defeats in a row and takes their home run to three victories in a row.

The North Hants Chris Price Cup tie at The Street was evenly matched in the first 30 minutes, before, North Warnborough Reserves went down 3-0 to Abbots Ann Eagles.

North Warnborough’s first team travelled to FC Wildebeest in the Andover Presidents Cup, but three players didn’t make the game as their car broke down en route. Boro had play the game with 10 men. Sean Delfosse scored twice but FC Wildebeest won 7-2.

Eastrop Eagles took the lead against Bramley United, but lost 7-1. Bradley’s scorers were Adam Bartlett with a pair, Richard Kalwarczyk, Stuart Leddy and Ben Squibb with braces.

Leaders Republic of Chineham saw off bottom club AFC Soldiers 3-0 and achieved a league double, with a brace from Ben Nicholls and George Jones.

Camrose Social edged their Division 2 match 4-3 against Chineham Athletic, with Aaron Burt, Ben Woods, and Matthew Foreman (2), one from the penalty spot. Ray Greenwood and a Simon Harrison pair came close to preventing Camrose Social’s double.

Kempshott beat Chineham Reserves 4-2 as Luke Ambrose (2), Ed Quick and Jamie Hope. Tyler Andrews hit a brace for Chineham.
