HARTLEY Wintney have a busy time at the moment, this evening they face Farnborough in the FA Trophy, hoping to book a place in the first round proper at home to Bromley on December 16.

On Saturday, they return to league action with a trip to new leaders Rushden and Diamonds and then on Wednesday they are on their travels again to Alresford for a third round tie in the Hampshire Senior Cup.

Looking ahead to a busy week joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: “It’s not a bad week of football. I started my journey with Hartley back in 2010 where we were lining up in Division One of the Combined Counties. This week we face Farnborough FC and Rushden & Diamonds - it’s pretty crazy just how far we’ve come.

“What’s even better is that when our name is mentioned amongst big named clubs it no longer looks out of place.”

“We’ve got players returning back from injury, we’ve also got players returning from loan periods who were out gaining valuable minutes so that they can rejoin the squad firing on all cylinders. It’s going to be an exciting period where our focus is to continue improving and getting stronger.

“Our games at Rushden and Diamonds and the cup game against Alresford are going to be tough but they’re probably saying the same thing about us! We just need to concentrate on our preparation before the games and then the performance during. We’ll do all we can to give ourselves the best possible chance of winning both games.”

Last Wednesday, Hartley were in Southern League Division One East action and won 2-0 at Aylesbury thanks to goals from Jake Baxter and Dean Stow.
