BASINGSTOKE and North Hants seconds had their title hopes dented, as they lost by 25 runs to visiting Alton II.
The visitors batted first and were all out for 212 at May's Bounty with Rakitha Perera 4-30 the top bowler.
After the early loss of Chris Oliver, Steve Bucksey (24) and Callum Coombs (26) added 54 for the second wicket.
Top scorer Matt Deadman (39) continued to keep the scoreboard ticking and at 187-7, they still had a chance, but the home side lost their last three wickets with no addition to the score. Scott Dyer (31) being the last man out.
This weekend, the Bountymen travel to third placed Bashley, where victory will secure them promotion.
