HARTLEY Wintney are still searching for their first home league win of the season after they lost by 19 runs to Paultons in the Southern League Division Two.

Home side skipper Danny Plume won the toss and put the visitors into bat and thanks to Simon Enmew (60) and Nathan Feltham (33) they looked to be heading for a good total at 104-2.

However, the Hartley bowlers hit back with Ollie Waddington leading the way with 3-37, well supported by Jamie Teale (2-33) and Henry Collier (2-30).

It was left to Dan Reynaldo to wrap up the innings with the final wicket, with only his fourth ball, as Paultons were all out for 194.

The Hartley reply got off to the worst possible start with openers Will Kerr and Collier, back in the pavilion with just five runs scored.

Both were caught behind by Ennew as James Bilis snapped up early wickets.

Bilis struck again to bowl Danny Flanders, as the home side looked in big trouble at 18-3.

It was left to skipper Plume (84) and Scott Baldwin (37) to get Hartley back on track, as the pair put on 109 for the fourth wicket.

However, at that point the home side became lambs to the slaughter, as Peter Lamb picked up 4-26 as they slumped to 155-8.

They were eventually bowled out for 175, as Reynaldo (11) became only the third Hartley batsman to make double figures.

The village side will hope for better luck next week, when they entertain Hambledon.
