BASINGSTOKE and North Hants captain Mitch Stokes is looking for his side to bounce back to winning ways after a winless weekend.

The Bountymen suffered defeat in the T20 Cup last Sunday, having the previous day being unable to dent Southern League Division One leaders Portsmouth’s perfect start to the season.

This Saturday, Stokes’ side face another tough task when third placed Liphook and Ripsley are the visitors.

Basingstoke have yet to lose at May’s Bounty this season and will field the same XI which lost at Portsmouth with Ash Neal keeping his place for his performance on the south coast.

Stokes said: “Against Portsmouth we suffered from some poor batting which is why we were bowled out for 118. we have to improve that this weekend and I sure we will. Graham Porter was unlucky not to get the guy that got 60 out as he a couple of deep cert lbw calls and also had him caught behind which was not given.

“If we had got him out we would have won for sure.”

Stokes added “I will keep the side the same as Ash Neal bowled really well so deserved to keep his place.

“We have not lost a home so far, so it would be nice to keep that record going if we can.”

After Basingstoke's loss in the T20 Cup first round, the Bountymen have been drawn at home in the Plate competition against Paultons which takes place on July 3.
