OLIVER Hemming-Maher scored the game winning goal for the Basingstoke under-13 Bison as they won their top of the table clash at South One league leaders Guildford.
The visitors opened the scoring as Jakub Marczyk netted assisted by Tyton Cathcart and Harrison Wynn in the fifth minute.
The home side levelled shorthanded from Sonny Keywood, but the Bison took the lead again as Travis Penny scored as he converted a pass from Cain Russell.
Once again Guildford tied the game as Solomon Stoodley netted. The Bison then won the game with two unanswered goals as Hemming-Maher scored from Russell and Charlie Wedge.
The Herd’s fourth goal came from the stick of Harry Brooks with Hudson Friday and Penny picked up the helpers.
The under-18 Bison suffered a couple of defeats last weekend, they lost to visiting Slough 5-2.
The home side opened the scoring at 4:46 as Christian Han scored from Sam Compton.
The Berkshire visitors hit back with five unanswered goals, before the Bison added their second of the game as Joseph O’Donovan scored assisted by Josh Richards at 33:23.
The previous night the under-18s went down 13-2 at Guildford as they conceded six goals in the last 10 minutes.
The two Bison goals came just 37 seconds apart and both were assisted by Cameron Buckle.
The first goal was scored by Sam Brooks and George Gill netted the second.
