OVERTON United beat visiting Winchester Castle 2-1 in the North Hants Senior Cup thanks to two first-half goals.
The first goal arrived after 43 minutes as Jonny Gurney and Nathan Rae combined and Myles Englefield applied the finish.
Before the visitors had a chance to recover, Overton scored a second as Chris Lavisher pressured the centre halves and then Alex Jupp chipped the goalkeeper.
Just four minutes after the break, Winchester pulled a goal back, but after this both teams had chances, but with no further goals the home side won the tie.
This Saturday, Overton are back in Hampshire Premier League action when they entertain Stockbridge.
