HARTLEY Wintney's fine run continued as they progressed in the Aldershot Senior Cup last night, but Whitchurch United crashed out of the Russell Coates Cup.
Hartley travelled to Sandhurst Town, who play in the division below them, in the opening round of the Aldershot Senior Cup, emerging 2-1 winners to maintain their excellent start to the season.
Steven Duff scored for the visitors in the first half, but the teams were level at 1-1 going into the break.
Ross Cook bagged the winner in the second half, but his night was somewhat soured as he picked up two bookings and was sent off later in the game, his first back after a four-match suspension.
Whitchurch crashed out of the Russell Coates Cup, losing 5-1 away at fellow Wessex League Premier Division side AFC Portchester.
Both sides return to league action on Saturday. Hartley will be hoping to maintain their 100 per cent record at Knaphill, while struggling Whitchurch face a trip to mid-table Team Solent.
