ODIHAM hockey star Alex Danson scored in the penalty shoot-out as England were crowned Eurohockey champions, after a great comeback to beat the Olympic champions the Netherlands.
In a hard fought contest the Dutch side looked to be heading for victory after Cala van Maasakker scored two penalty corners in the third quarter.
Danson was denied by a great save as the home side tried to pull themselves back into the contest.
Then with nine minutes left, England started their comeback as Sophie Bray scored from a penalty corner and then Lily Owsley scored the equaliser three minutes later.
With no further scoring, the game was decided by a shoot-out and Helen Richardson-Walsh scored first and Maddie Hinch then saved the first Dutch effort.
Danson with a lovely reverse stick goal in off the post made it 2-0 and then Sophie Bray extended the lead to 3-0.
Ellen Hoog kept the Netherlands in the hunt, but when Eva de Goede was unable to beat Hinch it sparked wild celebrations from the England team, as they claimed European glory.
