THERE was no change at the top of the Whitchurch Bowls League after both Basingstoke Spades and Oakley A won at the expense of Littleton Leopards (62-33) and Marnell Blues (66-45) respectively, writes Norman Figg.
Third placed Kingsclere Quails lost at home to Howard Park A 48-42, so the top two have now opened up a gap. Other results saw Whitchurch Yellows beat St Mary Bourne Hawks 52-39 and Hyde Abbey A overcome Andover B 46-42.
In Division Two, Whitchurch Blacks closed in on leaders Old Basing Cavaliers when they took all five points against St Mary Bourne Eagles by winning 60-45.
Cavaliers beat Alton Social 53-34, while Basingstoke Diamonds lost against Alton 46-36.
The only other result was a win for Hook Hares over Oakley B 49-41.
Division Three leaders Littleton Lemurs stretched their advantage by beating Andover C 64-32.
Hyde Abbey B beat Town’s Jokers 61-45, Oakley C enjoyed a 49-39 success over Howard Park C and Kingsclere Partridges beat Friary 56-37.
Old Basing Roundheads and Whitchurch Blues look good for promotion from Division Four, even if the Blues slipped up against third placed Marnell Greens 49-45.
The Roundheads beat Thornycroft 59-38 and now only Marnell have an outside chance of getting into the promotion mix.
