FORMER Basingstoke Bison goalie Dean Skinns will face his old team mates in their opening fixture of the season after he signed for Milton Keynes Lightning this week.

The shot stopper who was part of the Herd’s double winning team of 2013/14 got the call to join MK after James Hadfield was injured.

Last season, Skinns became the first Basingstoke goalie to pass the landmark of 10,000 league minutes in goal for the Bison and he also recorded seven shut-out for the team.

Basingstoke-born Skinns will have a quick return to his home town team when he suits up the Lightning in the Herd’s opening pre-season challenge game, when MK travel to Basingstoke on September 2.

He will face the man who replaced him as the Bison’s starting goalie Tomas Hiadlovsky, which is sure to add some extra spice to the game.
