Basingstoke runner finishes third at English championships
BASINGSTOKE and Mid Hants middle-distance runner Tom Sykelmoore is celebrating after claiming a place on the podium at last weekend’s English Championships.
The 23-year-old travelled to Bedford for the event, where he completed in the 800m event.
Syckelmoore won his heat in 1min 54.69sec before clocking 1:54.42 to claim an impressive third place finish in the final.
The Richardson brothers, Myles and Owen, also travelled to Bedford to compete.
Both chose to take part in the 200m and they were drawn in the same heat, but neither was able to reach the final. Owen finished fifth in 22.47sec, with Myles seventh in 22.63sec.
