OVER £2,000 was raised for charity at the annual tennis tournament held in memory of Julian Lance and Rhys Roberts at the Hampshire Court Hotel.

The popular and well supported event is played in an American mixed doubles format, which allows everyone to play a minimum of 24 games.

The eventual winners, Lesley Miotto and Jamie Thomas, beat runners-up Alex Nicholls and Jamie Thomas in a hard-fought final.

A prize giving dinner followed the tennis, along with a draw for the many prizes in the raffle.

The fantastic sum of £2,020 was raised this year. This will be split equally between St Michael’s Hospice and Diabetes UK.

Organisers Sue Lance and Alison Stent would like to thank everyone who supported the event and donated so generously, as well as the Hampshire Court Hotel and their staff for their help hosting the event.
