PHIL Watts produced an excellent ride to be crowned North Hampshire Road Club 2015 25 mile time trial champion.
A strong breeze made it hard going for the competitors who took part in the event, held on the A31 near Bentley.
It was Watts who handled the conditions best, completing the race in 54min 35sec. Jonathan Hobby was second in 56:05, with Nick Onslow a further 50 seconds back in third.
Two other riders, Andre Posthuma and Andy Self, also broke the hour barrier, while Mandy Hibberd claimed the ladies title in 1:05:02, with Susan Parker (1:08:21) coming in second.
Watts had finished second in another event, held on the club's Dummer circuit, a few days earlier. Visiting rider James Goward (four4th) was the winner in 43:26, a single second quicker than Watts, with Self third in 45:56.
