OLD Basing Karate Club’s Christy Nash won gold and bronze medals at the Irish Open Karate Championships in Dublin.
The 17-year-old second dan black belt took first place in the senior ladies’ kata (forms) event and then picked a bronze medal in the senior cadet ladies’ kumite (free-fighting) division.
Nash trains at the Old Basing (Seshinkai) Karate Club.
The club meets at Old Basing Village Hall on Wednesdays and at Lychpit Community Hall every Monday and new members are more than welcome.
