READING had to settle for a point against visiting Championship rivals Cardiff City, after the Welsh side grabbed a late equaliser at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
The home side took the lead after just four minutes of the contest from Pavel Pogrebnyak as he scored from Garath McCleary’s header.
It was the Russian’s third goal in two games and was just the start the FA Cup semi-finalists were looking for.
Just when it looked like Reading would take all three points from the contest, Conor McAleny converted Aron Gunnarsson’s pass to snatch a point in the final minute.
Reading manager Steve Clarke said: “It was a game we should have finished off long before they equalised.”
The result leaves the Royals nine points clear of the relegation zone and they will hoping for three points on Tuesday night when they travel to bottom side Blackpool.
