THE Great Britain women’s ice hockey team, which included Basingstoke-based players Leanne Ganney, Chrissy Newman and Natalie Aldridge, had mixed fortunes in their two-game challenge series against the Netherlands last weekend.
The games were being used as the team’s warm-up ahead of the World Championships in March.
The first game at Dondrecht saw the hosts win 3-1, with Aldridge getting an assist on the only British goal, scored by Louise Adams.
The following night in Tilburg, the Brits gained quick revenge as they won 2-1.
GB will next be in action in the World Championships from March 30 to April 5.
