BASINGSTOKE Buffalo will look to remain in pole position in National Ice Hockey League South Two when they face a visit from the Bristol Pitbulls tomorrow (face-off 6.30pm).
Honours have been even so far this season between these sides, as the Pitbulls won on their last visit to Basingstoke and then the Buffalo gained revenge with a 7-6 victory in the last meeting.
This was thanks to six second-period goals as Alex Sampford and Mark Pitts both scored twice, with Ryan Sutton and Greg Martyn also netting.
Matt Lawday had scored the Buffalo’s opening goal in the first period.
Since this game, the early-season title favourites’ chances have been improved by the return of British forwards Steve Osman and Jamie Newton.
The pair scored five goals between them in Bristol’s 9-1 home win over Cardiff last weekend, so Sunday’s contest could be a thriller.
