LODDON Vale have started the new year in good form with two more friendly wins.
Last Saturday saw the annual game against London Welsh, which Vale won 97-90.
The winning rinks were skipped by Brian Ambler (20-11), Steve Foyle (22-11) and Mick Jones (19-11).
The losing rinks were skipped by Judy Foyle (22-7), Frank Fuller (19-14) and Jim Rainbow (16-15).
Sunday’s match against Riverside ended in a 124-97 win for Vale.
The winning rinks were John Holmes (30-12), Ian Laming (22-15) and John Hilton (20-13), while Foyle forced an 18-18 draw.
The losing rinks were Alan Smith (15-14) and Rainbow (24-20).
This weekend, the ladies play Palmerston in the Riversmeet.
On Sunday, the men have a good chance of putting themselves in contention for a runner-up place in the Wessex as they take on current second-placed side Carterton.
