HERRIARD Sports sprang a surprise in Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division Two on Saturday, winning 2-0 away at high-flying Preston Candover.

Sam Weber dribbled past four men to give Herriard an early lead, and a second goal followed after 18 minutes.

Again Weber was involved, his shot being parried, with Wayne Rowland following up to score.

Bounty United remain top of the table after beating Overton United B 9-1.

There were no goals in the first half, but Matt Love broke the deadlock from a Mitchell Stokes corner early in the second period.

Stokes got the second and went on to complete his hat-trick, with Love also claiming a treble. Jordon Willis, Craig Williamson and substitute Aaron Parfitt were the other Bounty scorers, with youngster Liam Randall netting for Overton.

Basingstoke United claimed a narrow 2-1 victory away at AFC Aldermaston A.

Paul Mellor had Aldermaston ahead at the break, but Ash Pearce levelled in the second half and Tom Hartley got the winner after being played through by Dan Southgate.
