THERE will be no county cup glory for Basingstoke and District Sunday League sides this season after Chineham were knocked out of the Hampshire Sunday Junior A Cup.
The Division Two side were the Basingstoke league’s last representatives in the county competitions, but they made their exit after a 4-1 defeat away at Winchester League outfit FILO. Steve Emerson scored the visitors’ only goal.
Dayers Fine Foods were also in cup action, being knocked out of the Basingstoke Kelvin Cup by a fit army side in Tidworth Town.
George Lagden scored for Dayers, but his side trailed 3-1 at the break. They defended well in the second half, but still conceded a fourth goal.
Republic of Chineham progressed in the same competition, romping to a 10-0 victory away at South View.
