BASINGSTOKE Ice Skating Club once again wowed the audiences at the Basingstoke Arena with their annual popular Christmas ice show.

The evening showcased the talent at the club and skaters from right across the age-range took part, from as young as six to over 70.

There were 180 skaters involved, with many of them on the ice at the same time, thrilling the crowds with their skating, which was of an excellent standard.

There were a total of four performances of the show over one weekend and this year’s event was entitled Broadway on Ice.

The show involved numbers from a lot of well-known music-als included Singin’ in the Rain, Cats, Oliver!, Shrek and Grease.

The head of the coaching team behind the show was three-time Danish champion Peter Baekgaard.

Simon Hawthorne, chairman of Basingstoke Ice Skating Club, said: “All of the skaters, coaches and volunteers did a fantastic job.

“It shows the depth of talented ice skaters we have here in Basingstoke.

“They all pulled together to produce an amazing show and it is a great start to Christmas.”

Now the hard work starts again as the club looks to put together what is sure to be another great show in 2015.
