BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies beat hosts Parley Sports Ladies 6-1 to progress in the Southern Region Women’s Football League Cup.
The visitors got off to the perfect start when Tracy Jones put them ahead after just two minutes and while Parley threatened briefly, Jones doubled the lead on 20 minutes.
Carla Mitchell had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half and while Parley pulled one back on 68 minutes, Lindsey Beverley and Josette Pearmine both scored twice in the closing stages to give Town a comfortable win.
The team are in cup action again this Sunday, travelling to Poole Town Ladies in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Women’s Cup.
Goals from Katie Hempton, Rebecca Lee and Charlotte May gave the reserves a 3-2 victory over Alderbury Ladies in Hampshire League Division Three. They host Wilbrook United Reserves at War Memorial Park on Sunday.
