ENGLAND Visually Impaired side and Hook and Newnham Basics played out a thrilling t20 game on Sunday at the King George V Playing Fields.
The visiting England stars posted their highest total of the season as they scored 164 and Hook just managed to get past the total with nine balls to spare.
Former Hook captain and now England coach Ross Hunter said: “It was a great game and the club really did us proud. They made it a really fun day for all the players and their friends and families.”
The England team are off to Cape Town for the World Cup at the end of November and Hunter feels this match was another great workout for his side.
Hunter said: “It was great to see the players in a pressure situation and they will only benefit from this, playing in a very competitive game. They really enjoyed the match as did everyone who watched it.”
The England coach finished by saying: “I must thank Hook for all their help in organising this game, especially Jeremy Stewart as without his contribution it would not have happened.”
