HARTLEY Wintney will be hoping to make the final of the Don Lynch Aylward Cup this evening, when they host Cove (6.15pm).
The other semi-final will see Finchampstead face a visit from Thames Valley League rivals Eversley.
Finchampstead ended Basingstoke’s three-year reign as champions as the Bountymen suffered their first-ever defeat in the competition since joining it in 2011.
The Berkshire side won the contest by 63 runs, opener Dan Lincoln scoring 102 off 46 balls as he helped his side to 175-3 from their 15 8-ball overs.
With the sun setting at the pavilion end, Basingstoke batsmen struggled to pick the line or length.
Only Dan Coombs (30), Matt Thankachan (22), Mitch Stokes (11) and Harry Smith (11 not out) made it into double figures as the Bountymen were restricted to 112-7.
