NEWLY qualified Old Basing snooker coach Stuart Graham is looking to pass on his new found knowledge and once again build a thriving base of junior players in the town.
The 35-year-old received his coaching certification from the English Association of Snooker and Billiards, as well as the International Billiards and Snooker Federation.
Graham said: “I stopped playing in the early ’90s after playing on the Cuestars circuit travelling all around the South of England.
“I got back into the game and rebuilt my technique. I really enjoyed doing it and this is what got me interested in coaching.”
He is keen to start a junior section at the Academy, based on the Moniton Trading Estate, as well as maybe father and son sessions.
As a father of two young sons, Benjamin aged nine and Joseph aged seven, he sees the enjoyment that young players get from the game.
Graham said: “There are lot of father and sons playing and would be nice for them to be coached together.
“Snooker is getting a lot of coverage at the moment with the World Championships, and I am sure there are kids out there that would like to take up the game and a junior section will hopefully help this. They could be the next Ronnie O’Sullivan.
“My sons play cricket at Hook and I see the older children coaching the younger kids. I would like to see this happening with snooker in the town.”
Graham is available to coach any snooker players who would like to improve their game.
