SKEWERS provided an upset by beating fancied side Welly Old Boys to reach the semi-finals of the Peter Raynbird Cup.
Welly are top of the Basingstoke and District Premier Division and unbeaten in the league, so they were strong favourites to beat Division One Skewers.
However, the lower league side were the better team on the day, hitting the bar early on.
Dale Bristow and Jamie Ballantyne both missed good chances for Welly but they did take the lead just before the break, Charlie Smith converting James McIntosh’s corner.
Skewers left it late to make a stunning comeback.
Louis Bugg levelled with just a minute to go and Mark Doran came up with the winning goal in added-time to put the underdogs through.
