Reading’s five match unbeaten run came to an end on Tuesday night as they lost 3-1 to visiting Barnsley in the Championship.
The Tykes opened the scoring from Stephen Dawson, but the Royals were level before half-time when Pavel Pogrebnyak converted a penalty, after he had been brought down by Kelvin Etuhu.
The second-half saw the visitors win the game thanks to Reuben Noble-Lazarus and Dale Jennings.
Reading remain in the play-off places and will hope to return to winning ways when they entertain Huddersfield on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
