LONDON Wasps won for the first time in five years at the Madejski Stadium, as they beat London Irish 19-12 in the Premiership on Saturday.
Wasps’ Andy Goode and James O’Connor traded penalties, before the visitors were awarded a penalty try for a deliberate knock-on by O’Connor, who was sin binned.
Goode kicked the he conversion to extend the lead, before Sean Geraghty sent over a penalty for Exiles, as the home side went in at the break trailing 13-9.
The team swapped penalties again from Goode and O’Connor, before Goode’s drop goal sealed the victory.
Irish return to Amlin Challenge Cup duty on Sunday, when they are at home to Stade Francais (kick-off 3pm).
