LONDON Irish got their Amlin Challenge Cup campaign off to a fine start with a 60-11 victory over Italian side Cavalieri Prato at the Madejski Stadium on Friday night.
The Exiles ran in a total of nine tries, with Jimmy Stevens, Myles Dorrian, Andrew Fenby and Sailosi Tagicakibau going over to put them 27-3 ahead at half-time.
Fergus Mulchrone scored two tries after the break, while Alex Lewington, Darren Allinson and Leo Halavatau also touched down. Dorrian added 13 points with the boot, while Allinson kicked the final conversion.
Irish are back in Amlin Challenge Cup action next Saturday, when they travel to Lusitanos. The Portuguese side were beaten 61-3 by Stade Francais in their opening match on Thursday.
