BASINGSTOKE professional boxer Darryl Still is expected to get back to winning ways when he returns to the ring on Saturday at the Guildhall, in Winchester.
This is the first time in 30 years that boxing has taken place in the Hampshire capital and Still is on bill with some of county’s finest, with Tony Hill, Matty Tew, Alex Dilmaghani, Joe Pigford and Wade Armour also in action.
Still was due to fight Kevin McCauley over six rounds, but his opponent was knocked down last weekend, so the search is now on for a new man to face the Basingstoke fighter.
Still said: “I have never felt so good before a fight and it is going to tough as I don’t know who I am fighting.
“I want to put on a show. I have been a slow starter in the past but I plan on coming out strong from the first bell.”
The Basingstoke fighter, who has a record of four wins from his seven outings, is keen to show he is back to his best as he looks to eye up a title fight in the future.
He still trains in Southampton under the watchful eye of Wayne Batten, while David Lloyd has been helping him with his fitness.
Tickets for what should be a good night of boxing, which starts at 7pm, are priced at £30 and can be purchased by contacting Still on 07584 994624.
