An amateur drama group marked its 40th anniversary with a celebration bringing together generations of members and supporters.

Hook Players hosted the anniversary event at Elizabeth Hall in Hook on Saturday, June 6.

Current and former members attended the occasion, which featured a three-course meal, a glass of fizz on arrival, and entertainment celebrating the group’s four decades on stage.

Guests were able to look back on the society’s history through a display of props used in productions over the years, while the group’s band performed music from past shows.

The evening also included a stand-up comedy sketch, cake cutting, and a montage of video clips highlighting memorable moments from Hook Players’ productions.

The amateur dramatics group was established in 1986 and has staged 85 productions across North-East Hampshire.

The celebrations come ahead of the group’s next production, A Bunch of Amateurs by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, which will be performed from July 9 to 11.
