SIR: Please could you print a plea for a kind builder or farmer – or ‘someone’ – to lay some planking on patches of Five Bridges Road just so that more people can access this walk again. In past weeks, a couple of short stretches have become so increasingly wet and muddy that it’s been almost impossible to cover the length of the road without wellington boots.
At one point, people have obviously braved the brambles and trodden widening paths along the edges of the road but the verges in turn have now become excessively muddy and slippy, I nearly lost my footing there this morning. Many more of us are are out walking to get some fresh air and exercise during this lockdown, it would be greatly appreciated if we could more easily access Five Bridges Road again.
