A WINCHESTER University alumna has turned the heads of two star judges on a hit TV singing show.
Hannah Williams is competing on the latest series of The Voice UK.
The 38-year-old has progressed from the blind auditions after impressing Olly Murs and Sir Tom Jones, who both turned their chairs after hearing her voice.
In the typical style of the show, Hannah was then asked who she wished to progress with. She chose to join Sir Tom's team, with whom she will compete for victory over a number of rounds.
Hannah studied music theatre at the city uni between 2003 and 2006. She was also director of foundation music (now the University of Winchester Music Centre) after she graduated until a couple of years ago. She is still at the centre as a vocal consultant and teacher.
Neil Valentine, creative director at the Music Centre, said: "We are thrilled for Hannah and are so proud of her achievements.
"For years Hannah has been the driving force behind excellent singing at the University of Winchester Music Centre by coaching, teaching and performing alongside our amazing students. She is an Inspiration and we are so excited to support her on The Voice UK."
The soul singer also fronts Hannah Williams and the Affirmations – a Bristol-based band.
In 2017, her vocals were sampled on Jay-Z's title track 4.44.
Jay-Z is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, selling more than 100 million records and receiving 21 Grammy Awards for his music. He is also married to the Queen of pop, Beyonce.
He stumbled on the vocals by surprise and then called Hannah about sampling her track Late Nights and Heartbreak.
The Voice airs again on Saturday.
