FRIENDSHIP and wellbeing clubs held a virtual celebration this month in place of their usual Christmas parties.

Brendoncare Clubs held the party on December 11 for all members and volunteers which allowed all clubs to come together to celebrate Christmas.

The festivities included entertainment from the members and volunteers, a grand raffle of 12 days of Christmas and a surprise visit from Santa.

Sam Agnew, Head of Brendoncare Clubs, said: “The virtual Christmas celebration was a great success. It was the first time that all the virtually connected club members have come together in one place and it was really fun. I would like to say thank you to my team for making this happen.”

All Brendoncare members and volunteers have also been sent a special Christmas newsletter, a Christmas card and decoration; another way of them being connected and less isolated at this time of year.

After receiving her Christmas surprise through the post, Kay Soussi, member of the Brendoncare Southampton Voices Club, commented: “I am so impressed and over the moon about it! I loved the poem, card and decoration and felt excited to read the latest newsletter! It opened a discussion with all the members last night and we said Brendoncare had pulled out all the stops to help us through the lockdowns. We all agreed that we feel really supported and would like to say a big thank you to Brendoncare!”
