THIS spring Girlguiding Winchester Division is delighted to be presenting the popular musical The Sound of Music between April 17-18.

With a cast of over 70 aged five years plus - Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and the Trefoil Guild - tell the heart-warming story of Maria and the Von Trapp family. They are supported onstage and backstage my members of the Chesil Theatre to add that final polish to the show. The show will also have an orchestra led by Alex Pope from The Showcase Performance Group.

This is the fourth large-scale musical that Winchester Division have produced since 2012 - others include Annie, Dr Dolittle and Oliver! all of which have been well received.

Isabelle Haigh, producer of the show, said: “To get that many children on stage is quite a challenge over the 6 month rehearsal period - but it is all worth it in the end when you see how the girls get such a buzz performing, learn theatrical skills, make friends and memories for life”.

Come along and enjoy this real treat for all the family this Easter holidays!

The show is being staged at St Swithun’s Performing Arts Centre in Winchester. For tickets email sofmtickets@gmail.com: £10 for children, £15 adults.
