POLICE have released descriptions of two men wanted after a double stabbing in Andover.

Residents described hearing screams and moans after two men were attacked in the Roman Road area just after 10.50pm on Sunday.

The victims, who are understood to be from Andover, are currently being treated at Southampton General Hospital, where one is said to be in critical condition.

A 27-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds and a second victim, a 35-year-old man, had also been stabbed multiple times. Witnesses said he had managed to run to Vespasian Road.

A 39-year-old man from Andover was initially arrested in connection with the stabbing but has been released, under investigation.

A 39-year-old woman, also from Andover, was released after being arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police are now looking to trace two men wanted in connection with the double knife attack. They are described as a white man, around 18-years-old, with a skinny build and a black man, aged between 20 and 30, average build with plaited hair.

A spokesman for police said they were conducting enquiries but did not believe there was a threat to the wider public.

Residents shared their concerns about the incident, with one saying: “Someone was outside moaning, they were in agony and someone was screaming. It makes you feel unsafe knowing that there are people walking around with knives.”
