Machete man in court

AN ANDOVER man who had a machete in an industrial estate has appeared in court.

Thomas George Williams indicated a guilty plea after he was accused of having the weapon on Focus Way in Walworth Industrial estate on November 18.

He also admitted having possession of cannabis at Basingstoke police station on the same.

He will be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court next month.

The 23-year-old also denied causing the actual bodily harm of the same woman eight times.

Court documents show that the 23-year-old is alleged to have assaulted the woman on various occasions between September 1 and November 13, 2019.

He is also accused of damaging the woman’s phone on November 9, 2019.

Williams, of Tollhouse Close in Picket Twenty, further appeared in court to deny having a lock knife, heroin and cocaine in Speen, Newbury in 2017.

He will next appear at Winchester Crown Court on December 23, and has been released on conditional bail.

Williams must live and sleep at his Picket Twenty address, has curfew from 9pm and 6am, and is banned from contacting the complainant.

Racial abuse

A WOMAN accused with the racial abuse of a person in Andover is due to appear in court next month.

Chloe Cavanagh is alleged to have used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour against Ines Saka in Andover on February 23.

The 21-year-old is further accused of assaulting PC Penn and PC Gibson.

Cavanagh, of Ludgershall Road in Tidworth, has been released on unconditional bail pending her next court appearance on December 17.

Speeder disqualified

A MAN caught driving his Mercedes at over 90 miles per hour on the A303 has been disqualified from driving.

Daniel Arthur Brady, of Saunters Close in Wincanton, was clocked at 92 mph near Bullington Cross on January 16.

After admitting the charge at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, Brady was disqualified from driving for six months.

The 34-year-old was also issued a £80 fine, as well as being ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £45.

Fly-tipping

A PERSON from Middle Wallop has been charged with fly-tipping.

Nikola Linhartova, of Lower Mead, is accused of dumping five bags of household waste and a toaster in Privet Lane in Fyfield.

The case has been adjourned until February 11, 2021.
