A MAN has been arrested after police found a BB gun in an Andover property.
Residents reported witnessing armed police officers on Bell Road, Andover, on Sunday morning.
Police confirmed they were called to the area after a man was reportedly seen with a firearm.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 8.23am today (November 22) to a report of a man seen with a firearm in Bell Road, Andover.
"Officers attended the address and upon carrying out a search found a BB gun.
A 31-year-old man from Andover has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
"He remains in custody at this time."
