Halloween activities normally involve spooky surprises, trick or treating, and maybe a frightening film or two.

But the Enham Trust is bucking the trend, and inviting the people of Enham Alamein to join it in cleaning up the village this weekend.

As part of The Great Big Enham Alamein Autumn Village Tidy, the trust has invited residents to help beautify the village by picking up litter and cleaning signage.

Children meanwhile, can hunt for hidden ‘magic fir cones’ as part of the day, which takes place on October 31 between 10:30am and 3:30pm.

To ensure that everyone is kept safe, and Covid-19 guidelines, are followed, a number of measures have been put in place.

The trust is only allowing groups of up to 6 family members to participate, while social distancing from other groups must be maintained.

Hand sanitiser and cleaning materials will be provided, and equipment will be cleaned between uses.

Litter pickers, high visibility waistcoats, gloves and bin bags will also be provided for participants to use.

Anyone interested in participating, or wanting to learn more, should call the charity on 01264 357609 or email gardening@enhamtrust.org.uk
