These mums are using social media to raise awareness of what life with children with Down's syndrome is like.

One mum in Andover has taken part in a viral video that got thousands of views in just a few hours this morning.

Mum of five Kirsty Safe, who lives in Ludgershall took part in a #dontrush challenge with her 3-year-old son Keldan to raise awareness for Down syndrome.

The challenge requires each person in the compilation to shoot their own video of them getting ready and then these are all combined at the end.

Kirsty said “When I started my page on Instagram Keldan was eight or nine months old and there wasn’t much on mainstream social media.

“I thought I would start page and if one family could come across my page down the line and see that it’s not as scary as you might be led to believe having a child with Down syndrome I will have done my job."

💙💛My Tribe - 1💛💙 We've picked up some new followers recently so thought i would do a little 'Hi this is us' post Im Kirsty mumma to 5 my eldest is 22 next week and the youngest is 7 weeks (can just see his head in pic) ive been with the hubby Jase for 17 years and married 15 and a half, we had 10 years of secondary infertility before doing IVF and being blessed on the 3rd go with Bobby, the 3 other boys were like winning the lotto over and over. Keldan was a birth diagnosis lead by me (full birth story on my blog, link in bio) We had discussed adoption during our 10 year trek and both agreed we wanted to adopt a child with Down Syndrome so i think that was why we were lucky to not be phased by Kels diagnosis. I also have another account @fourboisterousboys which i post the other boys on, i mainly use this account for advocating and sharing the joys that is Keldan. #downsyndrome #t21 #nothingdownambassador2020 #WouldntChangeAThing #myworld #aboutus #family #maclaren #vans #elcteamlove #tyactees #wearetyac

Kirsty says that Andover has been amazing place to live as there is lots of support available.

“For me personally Andover is amazing we are part of the Andover 21 group which is specifically for people with Down syndrome and they are absolutely fantastic.

“The support we have is amazing.”
