More than 400 new homes will be built at a former Ministry of Defence site near Andover after a huge deal was agreed.
The deal worth £100 million has been agreed with developer Lovell Partnerships and Homes England.
The former Defence Medical Equipment Depot (DMED) in Ludgershall will be a mix of affordable and open market homes along with "significant training opportunities and investment for the local economy."
James Duffett, regional managing director for Lovell South Wales and South West said: “This site will provide much needed homes for the community along with jobs and investment.
“We would like to thank Homes England for the work done to ensure that we were able to purchase the site quickly, enabling us to get started on the planning process.”
Lovell’s South West and South Wales region will work on the site, named Drummond Park. This scheme will deliver 413 homes, 25 percent of which will be affordable.
Work will commence on the project, in June next year and will take approximately six years to complete.
