A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a Valentine’s Day stabbing in Andover.
Ahmad Hamshou, of Acre Court, Andover, attended Basingstoke magistrates court on this afternoon (Monday).
There the 50-year-old faced charges of the attempted murder of Yeyra Sharaf, 29, in Beale’s Close, Andover, on Friday afternoon.
He was also accused of making a threat to kill to Nisrine Sawtel and being in possession of an offensive weapon – namely a 22cm kitchen knife – during the same incident.
Mr Hamshou spoke, via a translator, only to confirm his name, address, date of birth and nationality.
Magistrates sent the case to Winchester crown court for a hearing on Wednesday, March 18.
His solicitor, Asha Seenauth, said: “There are two sides to every story. And he will get his chance to put his side across at the Crown Court.”
Mr Hamshou was remanded in custody until then.
