The A34 has been closed off at Litchfield near Whitchurch after what is being described as a serious accident.
The incident happened just before 7.28pm between the B4640 junction in Burghclere and Whitchurch on the southbound carriageway.

Serious crash involving a car . Closure being installed at #Tothill with local diversion
Motorists were trapped in standstill traffic for hours until the road was cleared shortly after 10pm.
The condition of those affected by the crash is not yet known.
