IT IS PROBABLY a sign of oncoming old age but when I was mowing the lawn the other day, I somehow managed to trip over the lawnmower lead and end up face down on the grass.

Fortunately nothing was hurt except my pride but clearly suspecting his dad had badly injured himself, the next thing I knew was that my six-year-old son appeared at my side with a glass of water and a box of plasters!

A simple act of kindness.

It struck me that there is so much need and suffering in the world, that often we are overwhelmed by it and end up doing nothing in response.

Christians believe that we must always seek to respond to people and situations with God’s love, a love which is greater than we can ever grasp.

Sometimes it feels that all we can do is to show a simple act of kindness but to the recipient that may mean more than we can imagine.

We should always look to respond with love and we may be amazed at the results.
