JUDITH Charmer is the fund manager for the North Hampshire Medical Fund – a charity based at Basingstoke hospital.

The charity was launched in 1981 to purchase cutting edge equipment for the hospital which the NHS cannot afford.

They are currently raising funds to buy a piece of equipment which will help patients diagnosed with prostate cancer, a new piece of equipment for the cardiology department and lung testing equipment.

In the last two years over 20 new pieces of equipment have been purchased through the charity’s fundraising efforts.

Outside of work, Judith lives in Stockbridge and has two children and two grandchildren.

1. Who was your childhood hero and why? Alice in Wonderland as she got up to all sorts of adventures.

2. What is your most precious possession and why is it important to you? A ring I bought for my mother with my first salary. She kept it all this time and she passed away a couple of years ago.

3. What was the first record/CD you bought? The Woody Woodpecker song. It was a single and was bright red.

4. What is the radio/television show you hate to miss? The Great British Bake Off.

5. What is your favourite film? Local Hero.

6. What is your pet hate? People with no manners.

7. What are you reading at the moment? Inferno by Dan Brown.

8. If you were choosing a last meal, what would it be? A Sunday roast with all the trimmings and then trifle/ summer pudding.

15. What worries you the most? Not making enough money for the charity, as we need so much more equipment for Basingstoke hospital.
