London Fashion Week showcases the best in British and international design. Here are some of the names to look out for during the event.

Burberry

Burberry is always a highlight on the London Fashion Week schedule but this season’s show is one of the most hotly-anticipated yet because it is the debut from new chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci.

The Italian former creative director of Givenchy was announced as Christopher Bailey’s replacement in March, and speculation is rife as to how he will revamp the British heritage brand.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham’s fashion label is turning 10 and the Spice Girl turned designer is putting on her first show at London Fashion Week to celebrate.

Fashionistas have been unable to resist the thought of a fellow Spice Girl or two gracing the frow.

Jenny Packham

Jenny Packham has become one of the UK’s most successful fashion brands since launching in 1988.

She is a longstanding favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge but red carpets the world over are graced with her gowns worn by stars including Taylor Swift, Uma Thurman, Angelina Jolie, Emily Blunt and Kate Winslet.

Alexa Chung

The former model and television presenter launched her eponymous label last May after years of gracing London Fashion Week’s front row.

She will present her own first show at the event on the second day, expected to reflect her anti-trend approach to her collections, which have previously channelled ’90s Britpop and Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury Group.

Julien Macdonald

Julien Macdonald launched his own label in 1997 and has gone on to produce glamorous designs coveted by stars such as Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Naomi Campbell.

In 2001 he was appointed as successor to Alexander McQueen as creative director of the French fashion house Givenchy and was awarded an OBE in 2004 for services to the fashion industry.

His eagerly anticipated shows always feature a high celebrity count.
