Overton High Street was closed for several hours on June 19 after reports of a collision in the centre of the village. Police closed the B3400 as emergency services went to the scene, where the 80-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “I can confirm that police dealt with in an incident in Overton High Street yesterday (June 19) in which a man in his 80s suffered a suspected medical episode.

“He was driving at the time and a collision subsequently occurred. Emergency services attended and the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
