LONG-time Basingstoke Bison sponsors Zizzi are opening their doors to Bison fans for a special event which will see some of the Herd become waiters for the evening.

The fundraiser, held on Wednesday, 17 January, follows a successful charity evening earlier in the season, which raised more than £600 for the Ark Cancer Centre Charity – one of the Bison’s community partners.

As well being served by some of the Bison stars, the Zizzi dinner guests will be able to take part in a raffle where the prizes will include a signed Bison shirt, signed stick, Zizzi vouchers, and a Zizzi gift basket, with the money raised being donated to the Ark.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications for Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “Ark Cancer Centre Charity is proud to be a community partner of the Bison, and we are grateful that proceeds from the January 17 evening will be coming to the charity in support of the fundraising campaign.

“The first event in November produced a great result and I hope that plenty of Bison and Ark supporters will come along to Zizzi to support this latest evening, and to enjoy the rare opportunity, and treat, of having their food and drinks served to them by some of the Bison players.”

“Every pound counts towards the £5m target, and Ark Cancer Centre Charity is grateful for the generous support from Bison head coach Doug Sheppard, the players, the team at Zizzi, and everyone who comes along on January 17.”
