Man charged after door smashed with knife in Tadley

A man has been charged after reports of a front door being smashed with a large knife and officers being racially abused.

Police were called at 10.39pm on Tuesday June 9 to a report that a man had made threats while holding a large knife on Priors Road in Tadley.

A further report stated that a man had smashed a front door, doorbell, and glass panel on Almswood Road using a large knife.

The police said: “We attended the scene and made an arrest at an address nearby.

“A large knife was seized from the property.”

After the arrest, officers reported being threatened and racially abused.

Liam Farmer, 29, of Stanfield, Tadley, has since been charged with making threats to kill, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, criminal damage to property, use of violence to secure entry to premises, use of threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence and racially / religiously aggravated fear / provocation of violence by words / writing / behaviour.

He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on June 11.
